Andreas Shakallis, Subject Matter Expert in Insurance and Actuarial Services, is an Actuary with over 30 years of experience in the insurance sector primarily in the EU and the UK.

The major portion of his career was in the life and health insurance sector where he was  employed in a leading EU insurance company, serving in various positions i.e. Internal Actuary, Appointed Actuary, Chief Risk Officer and General Manager – Insurance Operations.

In November 2020 he founded an insurance business consultancy firm and as a consultant, he engaged in various actuarial, compliance and business development projects mainly with insurance company clients in the EU and the UK. In July 2023 he was appointed as an Independent Director at a life and health insurer in Malta, serving also as a member of the Board’s Audit & Risk Committee.

Andreas graduated in 1990 from the London School of Economics and Political Science with the degree BSc in Actuarial Science and in 1991, obtained a postgraduate degree MSc in Operational Research from the same university. He is an affiliate member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK.
